Mana Lomi® Workshops in Santa Fe this June

We are so excited to be offering two workshops in Santa Fe NM this coming June!

Level 1: Clinical Techniques June 18-20, 2013
Tuition: $485 Instructor: Carol Hart, MAT6285
Authentic Mana Lomi® is based on Hawaiian concepts of working with the body, mind and spirit. It is hands-on healing that is deep and powerful, yet gentle, giving immediate and long-term results. Lomilomi symbolically means “to communicate energetically deep within the bones of the individual thus the soul of the person”.

Mana Lomi® Level 1 will include topics such as clinical procedures of Mana Lomi®, simple meditation, ho’oponopono (alignment of living), the history and timeline of Mana Lomi®, Hawaiian healing chants, and Hale Pulo’ulo’u (Hawaiian House of Purification) on the final day (time and weather permitting). Mana Lomi® 1 is suggested for all upper level Mana Lomi® techniques including Level 2 (Advanced Specific Conditions), Lomi’ili’ili (Hawaiian Hot Stone Therapy), and Level 3 (Joint Mobilization, taught exclusively by Kumu Maka’ala Yates, D.C.). Upon completion, all students are qualified for 27 units of continuing education under Category A with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage
& Bodywork (NCBTMB).

Lomi’ili’ili (Hawaiian Hot Stone Therapy)
June 20-24, 2013 Tuition: $535

Lomi‘ili’ili, which literally means “flat stones in motion,” have been used in Hawaii for hundreds of years to treat the many levels of healing necessary to help restore balance in the mind-body-soul.Traditionally, stones were used as an extension of the hands to help the practitioner to better access hard to reach physical restrictions. This intensive training invites you to experience the traditional and ancient Hawaiian art form of hot stone therapy that is specific to the individual’s needs. Each student will learn how to collect stones using proper protocols, how to heat the stones and control the temperature, and how to clean the stones. workshop will take place from June 20-24, 2013. Both workshops will take place at the 6 Cerrado Loop, El Dorado NM for three full days. Most materials are provided. To save a position in either class, send $100 non-refundable deposit by May 15, 2013; full tuition must be paid two weeks in advance. Upon completion, all students are qualified for 27 units of continuing education under Category A with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB).

Four-Day Hawaiian Fasting Program

Dr. Maka`ala Yates, D.C. is a Kanaka Maoli (Hawaiian Ancestry) who specializes in Hawaiian medicine. On February 10 through the 13th, 2013 Dr. Yates will be conducting a Four-Day Hawaiian Fasting Program on Kauai.

Date: Feb. 10th – 13th (Sun. – Weds.)
Cost: $625 one month early or $675 thereafter
Kama’aina rate: $525 (must be paid in full by Jan. 10th, 2013)

Mana Lomi Workshops in February

The next Mana Lomi 1 workshop is slated for February 4-6, 2013 and will be taught by Carol Hart, and tuition is $485.

Following is a Mana Lomi Level 2 workshop with Dr. Maka’ala Yates, D.C. and Carol Hart from February 22-24, tuition is $485. Both will take place at Aloha Lomi Massage Academy.

There will be a Mana Lomi’ili’ili workshop on April 5-7, 2013, and tuition is $535.

Mana Lomi 1 & Lomi’ili’ili Workshops!

We have just completed two wonderful workshops in September: Mana Lomi Level 1 and Mana Lomi’ili’ili (Hawaiian hot stone therapy). The students expanded their skills, learning this ancient lineage of loving touch and healing through clinical lomilomi. Everyone enjoyed giving and receiving, and we all shared the Hale Pulo’ulo’u, which is the Hawaiian house of purification. Our next workshops will be offered in February and March 2013, so stay tuned to our website our call us at 808-245-LOMI (5664).

Also, our next certification class, starting on October 29, is now full and the next classes will begin on August 5, 2013. Mahalo Kumukahi! Aloha.

The first class from Aloha Lomi Massage Academy has officially graduated! What a wonderful year we have had, and these fine students are taking their exams and will be available for professional massages very soon. They have put in many hours of providing their loving hands to the community (and each other), and the feedback has been very positive. Some of the comments have been “this is the best massage I’ve ever had!”; “this student should be graduated already!”; “we’ll be back!”, and many, many more very positive feedback forms have returned. Please send your congratulations to all of these fine haumana, and remember that our clinic is ongoing with our second class. The next series of classes will be begin on October 29, 2012, and it is already filled; we do have a waiting list, so give us a call today! Aloha.

Mana Lomi Level 1 and Mana Lomi’ili’ili Workshops

Our next Mana Lomi Level 1 workshop will take place on September 17-19, 2012, from 9 am to 6 pm each day. Tuition for this workshop is $485 and you will receive 27 CEU hours approved by the NCBTMB. The Mana Lomi’ili’ili (Hawaiian hot stone therapy) workshop will take place on September 21-23, 2012, from 9 am to 6 pm each day. Tuition for this workshop is $535 and you will receive 27 CEU hours approved by the NCBTMB. You will leave these workshops with the skills to provide a wonderful 60 to 90 minute Mana Lomi massage, as well as receiving a life transformational experience! Aloha.

New Massage Classes Begin October 29, 2012

We are well into our summer session for Level 1, and soon these students will be applying for their apprenticeship permits! The next Level 1 class will begin on October 29, 2012, and classes will be held on Mondays from 9 to 5, and Thursdays and Fridays from 9 to 1. This course will be completed by January 18, 2013.
